It’s been a bit hectic! However, it IS still February for a few more hours, so here is what I have been obsessing over this month. The weather might still be chilly, but it’s pretty much the last month of winter, so it’s really hard to not jump ahead to Spring time colors and patterns. Which, in my book, means bright, happy colors like yellows and hot pinks. I’m completely obsessed with hot pink lipstick right now! And also, floral. But not just any floral! Loud, bold floral prints.

You can never have too many shoes. My husband may disagree with me on that, but it seems every time I find the perfect pair I’ve been neeeeding, another pair comes along and reminds me that I need them too.

One such shoe I’ve been on the hunt for is a pointy toe flat. But it had to be the perfect pointy toe with no extra embellishments on the shoe. So you can imagine how excited I was when I was browsing the new Prabal Gurung collection for Target and found these beautiful yellow flats. The color has be itching for Spring. I’m so ready to wear bright colors and floral everything again! These also come in black and a bright striped print AND they’re extremely inexpensive. Don’t wake me if I’m dreaming!

I stumbled across these black and white heels this weekend while I was out shopping at Kohls, and with the black and white combo being so in right now (not to mention, their pointy toe, which as if it hasn’t become clear by now, I’m totally obsessed with at the moment) they are truly too perfect to pass up.

And finally, I was on Threadsense today looking through their Back In Stock section, and I was so excited to see these ankle boots were back. I was kicking myself for not buying them the first time I saw them. That light brown color is perfection.

Happy 2013 everyone! It’s a new year, my site has a few shiny new updates, and I’m ready to conquer the world! :)

On to my current obsessions… The cold weather has me drawn to pretty fur accents and chunky knits to keep me pretty and warm. And I’m always a sucker for metallics, but I’ve been particularly wanting shoes in various golds and silvers lately. And when it comes to my color crush at the moment, it’s all about wine color shades of red. Such a pretty rich color to add to your winter outfit! Of all the wine colored pieces I added to my list, I’m really going to need those pants. In fact, how perfect would the fur vest, wine pants, and gold booties look together with a long sleeve striped or polka dotted top? Time to go shopping!

I can’t say I really like cold weather, but it does get me more in the spirit for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all things cozy! Also, the decorating bug has officially bitten me. We moved in to a new house, and I’ve been spending a lot more time on home decor sites and pinning a little too much pretty decor on my Pinterest. It has me majorly inspired, and since Modern Rustic decor is my favorite, I figured it’d be fun to put together some items in that theme. My definition of Modern Rustic is mixing decor that’s more current with nature inspired pieces. And because of the cold weather moving in, I wanted to add a winter-y vibe to it too. Especially since I’m kind of obsessed with deer, reindeer, antlers, etc. However, the great thing about this set is you can remove the reindeer pillow and add some darker colored pillows and accents, and have it fit a more year round theme.  I’m having a reeeeally hard time resisting the urge to buy every single item on this list!
